Student Assistants

Meet our lovely student assistants! Student assistants are our entry-level position and they keep the Food Bank pantry running smoothly on a day-to-day basis by assisting guests, stocking items, and preparing online order bags. They also help refill our on-campus snack stations, maintain our free vending machines, and run pop-up pantries!

Leadership at the A.S. Food Bank

Next up are our student leads and coordinators! These are the roles assigned to our students on leadership. Our leadership team is divided into three pods: Administration, Operations, and Special Programs. Each pod has a role within leadership and these students have additional responsibilities on top of running the main pantry. These students have demonstrated great leadership skills and are dedicated to enhancing the A.S. Food Bank in any way they can!

Our student coordinators lead each of their respective pods (Operations, Special Programs, and Administration) consisting of their corresponding student leads. Our coordinators manage daily operations and our volunteer network, oversee our auxiliary programs and plan special events, handle ordering and invoices, and so much more!

Food Bank Coordinator

Our Food Bank Coordinator serves as the staff advisor for all things AS Food Bank and Food Bank Advisory Committee— including supervising the ASFB’s student staff and program operations, advising students interested in tackling food insecurity on campus, and connecting students with food security and basic needs resources at UCSB.
