For many college students, balancing academics, work, and personal life can leave little time and resources to acquire healthy, affordable meals. Between late-night study sessions and part-time jobs, meeting one’s nutritional needs may fall to the bottom of the to-do list. That’s why we’ve partnered with UCSB Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises to convert donated meal swipes into meal vouchers; for those critical moments when a meal may feel out of reach.
The Meal Voucher Program provides eligible students with up to 3 meal vouchers per quarter. Vouchers may be redeemed for a free meal at any of the three dine-in dining commons at UCSB (Carrillo Dining Commons, De La Guerra Dining Commons, and Portola Dining Commons).
If you are interested in applying for a meal voucher, please fill out the application form. Note that each form submission is for 1 voucher (max. 3 vouchers per quarter). Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. The form closes when available vouchers are fully distributed, and reopens when more vouchers are made available through the donation process. Individuals will receive further instruction on how to pick up their issued meal vouchers at the A.S. Food Bank’s main pantry upon approval.
This program was made possible through the support and student leaders of UCSB’s Associated Students Senate; Young Democratic Socialists of America; Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises; A.S. Food Bank; and the generosity of student meal swipe donors.
